Tips for self-employed people to work productively in a coworking space

Are you self-employed as a sole trader or part of a small team and still haven’t found the right balance and structure in your everyday working life? Being self-employed means freedom—but also responsibility! Without fixed working hours or clear guidelines, structure can quickly be lost in everyday life, or at least lead to greater stress when completing your tasks. This makes it all the more important to consciously create routines and systems that make your daily work easier and ensure higher productivity. Maybe our tips can help you with this!

  • Fixed working hours help you stay focused. Starting and ending your working day at set times helps you avoid constantly working on the side or after hours, and creates a better work-life balance. Our coworkers have 24/7 access to CREON and are completely free to organize their own working hours.
  • Make a short daily or weekly plan with three to five realistic tasks per day. To-do lists, digital tools, or a classic notepad will help you stay organized. Once the tasks are completed, check them off. You’ll see that this reduces stress enormously.
  • When working from home, the boundaries between work and private life often become blurred. A fixed workspace in our CREON CoWorking Space helps you get into work mode and reduce distractions. A change of location can do wonders for your concentration.
  • Not every task is equally important. You should definitely set priorities and not try to do everything at once. Consciously divide your tasks and set specific time blocks for activities. This will help you focus on the essentials and avoid procrastination.
  • Productivity does not come from working non-stop. Regular breaks, e.g. in our garden, short walks in nearby Victoria Park, or chatting over a delicious coffee with other freelancers in our coworking space, help to recharge your batteries.
  • Routines or rituals such as a morning coffee, a brief review of the day, or a fixed end to the week give structure to the working day and ensure consistency, even when projects change.
  • And last but not least: self-employment does not have to be lonely. Talking to others during breaks or having pleasant conversations at our CREON events can motivate you, open up new perspectives, and help you feel part of a community even when you are self-employed.
